  • Kurinuki & Ceramic Fruit Making with Kana London | Sun 13th April

    Kurinuki - Make Your Own Sculptural Wabi-Sabi Cup - 10am - 12:30pm

Kurinuki is a Japanese hand-building technique where a block of clay is carved on the outside and hollowed inside, creating sculptural yet functional pieces. This method emphasises instinct and spontaneity over symmetry, letting the form evolve naturally during the process. It’s a fun and accessible technique for all skill levels. Anyone can have a go regardless of experience, it’s a fun and rewarding process. Once you come with an open mind and a lust for creative output you’ll be sure to enjoy it.

In this two-hour workshop, you'll spend the first hour shaping a vessel and the second experimenting with texture. Your pieces will be glazed in a beautiful white finish, and we'll notify you by email when they're ready for pick-up in 3-5 weeks.

    Ceramic Decorative Fruit Making - 2pm - 4:30pm

In this workshop, we’ll create ceramic fruit using hand-building techniques. For centuries, hand-formed fruit has symbolised good fortune, prosperity, and joy. We’ll use a block of clay, carving the exterior and hollowing out the interior for a sculptural yet functional piece.

This fun, rewarding process is open to all skill levels. In the first hour, we’ll shape the fruit, and in the second, we’ll focus on texture and hollowing. Your pieces will be glazed in white and ready for pick-up in 3-5 weeks. You can also book additional glazing sessions with Ana to paint your fruit in colours of your choice.

You can also book a full day of ceramic making with Ana, where you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a more extensive creative experience. During the day, there will be a lunch break, where you can enjoy a barista-made drink and a toastie of your choice to refuel.
