Botanical and Food Waste Ink Screen Printing with Cassie Quinn | Sat 22nd March

Discover the art of sustainable screen printing with Cassie Quinn! In this hands-on workshop, you'll work with natural pigments and binders to create custom designs on a set of linen napkins. Using inks crafted from seaweed, food waste, and plants, learn how to produce textiles that are gentle on the planet. No prior experience in printing or design is necessary.

Key Learnings:

1. Natural Ink Creation – Explore the process of making eco-friendly inks from seaweed, food waste, and plants. You will be guided through the process and materials required to create your own natural ink palette.

2. Stencil and Layering Techniques – Design and layer colours to create unique, multi-dimensional prints. You will be shown a variety of styles of prints including directional, non-directional and repeat and will be guided through techniques to produce your stencils.

3. Sustainable Textile Design – Gain insights into producing textiles that have a minimal environmental impact.

Come create beautiful, earth-friendly textiles!

You will leave with 6 pots of inks to continue designing prints from home as well as your pair of printed linen napkins.

The sessions has 12 spaces available on Saturday 22nd March 11am - 1pm at our Pophams Home workshop space next to Pophams Bakery, 197 Richmond Road, E8 3NJ. Refreshments will be provided.

*Note* Aprons will be provided however, you may like to also wear clothes that you don't mind maybe getting a little messy.
