Appliqué Workshop with Sow Studio | Sunday 27th Oct

In this workshop we will explore the mindful art of hand appliqué and expressive stitch, creating your own unique artwork. We will take inspiration from influential female artists including Sonia Delaunay, Ivon Hitchens and Hilma af Klimt, to create playful compositions. Using a range of colourful fabrics you will learn different ways to appliqué fabric to create a base for your artwork. We will then explore a variety of hand embroidery techniques that will allow you to embellish your piece and create interesting marks and textures in thread. During the four hours, you have the option to create a couple of smaller pieces, or a maybe you’d rather work on a larger piece for the duration - the choice is yours!

This course is suitable for all levels, previous experience is not essential as learners are taught individually and through group demonstrations according to their own interests and level of expertise. All materials will be provided.

This workshop will be running on Sunday 27th October from 11am - 3pm at our Pophams Home workshop space next to Pophams Bakery, 197 Richmond Road, E8 3NJ.
