Based in the Cotswolds, ceramicist Thomas Knowles Jackson has been passion about pottery since childhood. Creating functional tableware with rustic charm and refined, practical forms, each piece is finished in his own homemade glazes which derive from iron, copper and wood ash.
This large bowl is perfect for making salads, dressings and great for mixing batter when baking. Made using reduction-firing, each bowl has been left unglazed on the outside to create a rich burnt brown clay. The inside has been glazed with a porcelain slip then an apple wood ash glaze which has create a beautiful glassy finish which gathers in the bottom of the bowl to create a deeper pool of colour and crackle finish.
